Whereverbook

Wikipedia, wherever. An offline wiki reader for e-ink tablets.

Take it with you

Whereverbook puts Wikipedia on your e-ink tablet — no connection required. It ships with a starter corpus of essential articles, and can download full Kiwix archives (Simple English, top English Wikipedia) for deep offline reading. Everything is read locally by a pure-Java ZIM reader: no accounts, no tracking, no cloud.

What's inside

Bundled starter corpus — ~105 essential articles, ready on first launch
Kiwix archive downloads from Settings for full offline libraries
Title-prefix search across the whole corpus, offline
E-ink-tuned article view — calm, high-contrast, easy on battery
Starred articles, reading history, in-page find, and random article
Graceful offline mode: out-of-corpus links demote to text; go online and links and images come alive via a capped disk cache
